We are aware that time is one of the most valuable commodities, so we do not expect you to wait all day for us to arrive. We guarantee to arrive thirty minutes either side of the guaranteed time.
With over 17 years experience caring for floors, we can guarantee we will measure your floor area accurately and provide all necessary information relating to you and your floor’s needs. This knowledge will give you peace of mind that you can leave your floors in someone’s hands without any worry.
A GOOD JOB
This of course is the most important aspect of any service. Most jobs will be completed within a weeks time (usually 2-3 days plus drying tim).
What to Expect:
- A thorough explanation of all the work that will be carried out
- A comprehensive quote
- Nails punched and puttied, including the filling of knot holes in the floor
- Expert sanding and coating
What NOT to expect:
A complete dust free environment. Our machinery is fitted with dust collecting equipment. We wipe down any excess dust that is visible, however it is virtually impossible to totally eliminate dust from the jobsite. This results in some dust particles settling on the newly finished surface.
Deep cuts from carpet trimming knives or deep gouges cannot always be totally removed as it may thin the board out to a dangerous level.
Removal of stains from excess water (rust marks) around nails and damage from animal urine is virtually impossible. The filling of gaps between the boards (flood filling) is not advisable as any movement or shrinkage can crack the filler making it unsightly and dangerously sharp.
Don’t expect any filler to feel the same as the timber after the application of the coatings.
BE AWARE OF SILICONE-BASED PRODUCTS:
These cause a reaction to the coating called “rejection”. These can be found in hair sprays, “Fabulon”, fly spray, “No More Gaps” or similar sealants.
Downlights produce a cobweb effect on the coatings.
Black Japan or Stain around the perimeter of old floors can cause a two-tone effect.
There is always some variation in colour and grain of all floor boards, particularly between old and new boards.
As of May 1997, all work carried out by any tradesmen in your home/project must be guaranteed for 7 years. When it comes to finishes this may change, as each family or business is different. Wear and tear is relative to who and how many people use the floor space. We recommend a re-coat every 5 years, although most go 6-8 years.
